Paying Tribute to New Zealand

The Electric Canvas was called upon by the NSW Government to create a poignant tribute to New Zealand onto the sails of the Sydney Opera House on the evening of Saturday 16th March. A solitary silver fern was displayed in a show of solidarity for our neighbours across the Tasman Sea following the tragic events that took place in Christchurch on Friday 15th March.

Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Ceremonies

The 2018 Commonwealth Games was the largest sporting event to be staged in Australia this decade, welcoming athletes and officials from 71 Commonwealth nations and territories to the Gold Coast. NAIDOC Week 2017 took place from 02 to 09 July and Sydney Trains celebrated this important event with a projection onto the clock tower of Sydney's Central Station. White Night Descends on Ballarat

White Night made an exciting foray into regional Victoria for the first time in 2017, with the all-night cultural event taking place in Ballarat. Under the creative directorship of David Atkins Enterprises, White Night Ballarat was a resounding success, welcoming some 40,000 people to explore a diverse array of art installations in and around Lydiard Street. The Electric Canvas presented projection works onto seven of the street's marvellous examples of architecture.

Architectural Projections for Enlighten

The Electric Canvas has had the honour of creating the architectural projections for Enlighten Canberra since the ever-growing event's inception seven years ago. This year saw MOAD (Museum of Australian Democracy) get a makeover with digital projection and the National Portrait Gallery was the backdrop to "Framed", a fun interactive projection in which the public could see their faces portrayed on the gallery's façade.

Now in it's fifth year, White Night Melbourne attracted almost 600,000 visitors to the streets of the city centre. 'WildLight - The Bio-Kinetic City' for Vivid Sydney at Chatswood

The Electric Canvas was appointed by Willoughby City Council to oversee the creative direction of Vivid Sydney at Chatswood, one of the event's most popular satellite precincts. In creative collaboration with Erth Visual & Physical, we transformed Chatswood into "WildLight - The Bio-Kinetic City", with a fun collection of installations and activities inspired by the animals of Gondwana. The Electric Canvas Presents "City Life"

The Electric Canvas presents "City Life" as part of Vivid Sydney. Using the ornate architecture of Customs House as a skeleton, an elaborate city within a city is created. As the morning sun rises, the buildings, streets, overpasses and infrastructure emerge out of Customs House, like an organism coming to life. Hundreds of people, cars, buses and trains traverse the city. Mercurial weather patterns, traffic lights flashing, horns honking, the everyday hustle and bustle.

NRL 2012 Season Launch

Using 3D mapping techniques we created an animated montage of team colours, action packed player imagery and an extreme treatment of the 2012 TV ad campaign, all of which were emblazoned across the façade of the new building. “Welcome to Our House” was a resounding crowd pleaser.

Chinese New Year Twilight Parade 2012

Sydney’s Chinese New Year celebrations get bigger and brighter each year. This years’ Twilight Parade celebrated the Year of the Dragon with almost 3000 performers parading through the city and on to Chinatown. An estimated crowd of 100,000 enthusiastic people lined the route.

Light the Sails

The Electric Canvas continued it’s support of Vivid Live by providing the seamless technical delivery of the projections on to the sails of the Sydney Opera House.

French design collective Superbien were the artists commissioned to create this years projections. ‘La Macula’ was an artwork that played across the iconic architecture in humorous and psychedelic electropop explosion of light.

Luminous, Sydney Opera House May-June 2009

The Electric Canvas and our project partners, Big Picture, were engaged by the Sydney Opera House to provide high power projections for Luminous, curated by Brian Eno, part of the Vivid Sydney Festival and SmartLight Sydney.

Paintings selected from the artist's significant body of work were displayed in a continuously changing interaction that did not repeat over the course of the 21 day installation.

At Circular Quay, The Electric Canvas used an array of fourteen high powered data projectors from a distance of 450m. The Digital projections were controlled by the OnlyView timeline based media system that took care of all scaling and programming.

Telecom NZ XT Network Launch

The Electric Canvas will stage projections onto the Auckland Town Hall as part of the launch ot Telecom NZ new XT network.

Fantasy transformations will bring the exterior of the Auckland Town Hall to life with a large scale multimedia production using synchronized architectural and high powered digital projections. From a licorice house filled with people dancing and partying to a windswept Cape complete with lighthouse and crashing waves, the installation is set to mesmerise from 15th to 19th May.

2005 ISES ESPRIT Award Winner

Louis Vuitton's 150TH Anniversary Party

Mizrahi Adams Productions (NY,TOKYO), Serious Staging (HK)

The Electric Canvas has won the "Creative Solution" category of the 2005 ISES (International Special Events Society) Esprit Awards.

Our entry in the category was our projection for the Louis Vuitton 150th Anniversary Party in New York, where we overcame site limitations and obstructions using a variety of innovative techniques.

Winners were announced at ISES Esprit Awards Gala on August 13, 2005 in Los Angeles California.
