  • Peter Milne

    Peter Milne - Managing Director, Projection Designer and Technical Director

    Peter founded The Electric Canvas in 1997, introducing PIGI large-format projection into Australia, and was an early proponent of architectural masking techniques these days known as 'mapping'. With some 40 years of experience, initially as a lighting designer and later a technical director, project manager, and projection designer, Peter takes a hands on approach overseeing all of the company’s projects.

    Under Peter’s leadership The Electric Canvas has produced architectural projections for Federal, State and local Governments and has been a contributor to several major arts festivals, delivering original projection works for the Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney Festivals. Peter has been instrumental in delivering highly successful projections for numerous cultural festivals and events such as White Night Melbourne and Ballarat, Enlighten Canberra, Vivid Sydney, the Chinese New Year Twilight Parade in Sydney, and the ANZAC Dawn Service at the Australian War Memorial, to name but a few.

    Since 2000 Peter has overseen the projection components for an array of public ceremonies that most recently includes the 2015 UAE National Day Celebrations, the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony, as well as the Sydney Olympics and Paralympics, Singapore National Day (7), East Asian Games, Commonwealth Games (2), Asian Games, Gulf Football Cup, Rugby World Cup (2), South East Asian Games, Deaflympics and Youth Olympics.

  • Glenn Williams - Chief Technician

    Glenn has worked in the entertainment and event industry for over 25 years, specialising in Lighting and Projection. Glenn has toured with the likes of Bon Jovi, Harry Connick jr, The Eagles, Tracey Chapman, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and many others. His theatre credits include Grease- The Arena Spectacular, Carmen in the Round, The Great China Circus and the Bolshoi and the Kirov Ballets.

    Glenn has been with The Electric Canvas for 15 years as Chief Technician and has worked on almost every one of our projects. His expertise and skills in projection and with PIGI technology makes him an invaluable part of the team. As well as managing the technical crew, Glenn also provides training to freelance technicians in the highly specialised craft of PIGI projection.

  • Tim Campbell - Maintenance Engineer and Render Farm Manager

    Before joining The Electric Canvas and the world of large-scale events in 2012, Tim spent over ten years as an installation and maintenance technician working with Audio Visual, Data, Telecommunications and IT Networking Systems.

    Apart from his on-site delivery duties, Tim’s role includes the meticulous maintenance of our video projectors to the highest possible standard. His skills and knowledge are invaluable when it comes to ensuring that our projection equipment is always show-ready. Tim is also responsible for the ongoing operation and maintenance of our digital content render farm.

  • Blake Johnson - Audio Visual Technician & Programmer

    Blake began working in the audio visual industry five years ago. He quickly developed a keen interest in projection mapping and, in particular, media servers.

    Blake's knowledge of digital projectors and media server technology, as well as his programming and IT skills, are a great asset both behind the scenes and on-site. An autodidact in the realm of computer coding, Blake has developed several interactive projection activations since his time with The Electric Canvas. A recent highlight has been the coding of our interactive installation “Framed” at the National Portrait Gallery as part of the projections for Enlighten 2017.

  • Josh Feltham - Audio visual techncian

    A recent but welcome addition to the TEC family, Josh has been working as an audio visual technician for 3 years. During this time he has gained experience across a number of disciplines such as projection, LED, camera systems and media servers. Josh has worked on projects ranging from music festivals through to television, corporate functions and annual events such as Vivid. A recent highlight was being the projectionist for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' 2017 tour of Australia and New Zealand.

    All facets of digital media hold a fascination for Josh and he is keenly interested in the evolving world of interactivity. He holds a real passion for combining projection, architecture and storytelling.

  • Anthony Ripamonti - Audio Visual Maintenance Technician

    Anthony has worked in the events and audiovisual industries for over 20 years. During this time he has developed detailed working knowledge across a vast range of audio, lighting and video equipment. But it was his passion for projection that always stuck with him.

    While working on the upgrade to all new fully digital systems for a major cinema chain across Australia, Anthony gained comprehensive knowledge of the Christie Digital range of projectors, including their repair and maintenance. He continues this work at The Electric Canvas, as he meticulously maintains the health our digital projection fleet and provides invaluable support for our on-site technicians.

  • Tilmann Schneider - Art Director and Animator

    Tilmann began his career in Germany where he worked as a motion graphics designer and art director for film and television, as well as lecturing at Berlin University of the Arts (Universität der Künste), Technical University (Technische Universität Berlin) and BTK University of Applied Sciences. On moving to Australia, he continued as a freelance designer and lecturer.

    Originally one of The Electric Canvas’ handpicked freelance artists, Tilmann joined the company as our Art Director in 2013. He is able to direct and foster the talents of our design team to produce the very best creative outcomes. Tilmann’s experience with The Electric Canvas spans over a dozen major projects and he has been instrumental in delivering such projects as White Night Melbourne 2014, the 2014 Chinese New Year Parade in Sydney, “Colour Me Brisbane” for the G20 Cultural Celebrations in 2014 and many of our recent Christmas projects.

  • Santiago Florez - Senior Animator

    Santiago has over 10 years of experience as a 3D Animation and Motion Graphics Designer. Not long after completing his Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Design (Multimedia and Electronic Arts) at Los Andes University Australia and Colombia, Santiago moved to Australia to undertake a Masters in Visual Art (Character Animation) at the Queensland College of Arts Griffith University.

    When Santiago joined The Electric Canvas in mid-2016 he was somewhat new to the art of architectural projection. However in the last year he has been instrumental to many of the company's creative works. Santiago’s passion is visual story telling and the mixing of reality with fantasy. His talent and enthusiasm for creative challenges brings an exciting new edge to our design team.

  • Wenyu Zhu - Motion Graphics Designer

    The youngest member of our creative team, Wenyu joined The Electric Canvas in July 2016 after graduating from the University of Technology, Sydney, with a bachelor’s in Design in Animation. Primarily a 2D and 3D motion graphics artist, Wenyu’s creative skill set also includes illustration and photo/video editing.

    Wenyu loves producing creative work that people can enjoy - anything from a short gif to a music video, or using any medium that brings the physical and mental worlds together. Since joining The Electric Canvas, he has been fervently honing his talents in the art of projection mapping and has been an instrumental contributor on several of our major projects.

  • Diana Golden - Administration Manager and Art Department Coordinator

    After studying for a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Theatre) at the University of Southern Queensland, Diana has worked across the arts, hospitality and event industries for the past 20 years. While working for diverse organisations such as Metro Arts, Grin & Tonic Theatre Troupe, Conrad Casino, Hilton Hotel, Queensland Performing Arts Centre and David Atkins Enterprises, Diana has taken on roles that have covered event operations, sales and coordination, contract management, administration and logistics.

    Diana started with The Electric Canvas in March 2007. She oversees our production administration and logistics, getting crew and equipment safely to and from countries all over the world. Diana also plays a vital role in the daily operation of our Art Department, ensuring production timelines are always adhered to and liaising with clients during the entire production phase. Her depth of experience and broad skillset make her an invaluable part of the team on every project we undertake.

  • Alison Gill - Business Development Manager

    Alison has worked in the field of large-scale projection for more than 20 years, witnessing and working with its evolving technology along the way; from Pani slide projectors, to PIGI film scroll projectors, through to today’s high-end digital projectors. Her career has taken her around the globe, from New York to London to Paris, in a variety of capacities from sales and account management, to marketing, to project coordination.

    An Australian national, Alison returned to Sydney in late 2012 where she joined The Electric Canvas. She manages all incoming project enquiries, educating new and existing clients about the ins and outs of large-scale projection mapping. Alison also coordinates the company’s marketing efforts and spearheads the development of new business.

  • Eric Guo - Accounts Manager and Chinese Export Manager

    Eric completed his Bachelor of Business in transportation and logistics in Shanghai China. In 2002, he continued his post-graduate education at Macquarie University in Sydney and was conferred with a double masters degree in International Business and International Communications in 2004. Eric went on to complete a masters degree in professional accounting at the University of Western Sydney in 2006 and became a Chartered Accountant in 2009.

    Eric began working with The Electric Canvas as an intern in August 2004 to assist in communications with Chinese clients and help develop the Chinese Market. After three months her became a permanent staff member and has worked on the vast majority of our projects in Chinese-speaking countries. Eric also oversees the company's day-to-day accounting.
